A couple from the good old midwest visited Seattle to elope. I was asked by Jenny Storment to co-photograph this amazing elopement. We started photographing the couple at the Inn at the Market, in Seattle. The breathtaking views and summer climate made for a wonderful first experience for these two newlyweds, visiting from afar. The groom looked suave and calm as his bride walked out onto the roof of the hotel for the first time. They were all smiles and giggles from ear to ear.
Once the couple was ready and had taken in the sites from the fabulous roof top of the Inn at the Market,we made our way down to street level. First we traveled down to the gum wall, then into the market proper, and finally to the market front with it’s iconic neon sign. After that we traveled up further into downtown to make it on time for their marriage ceremony, at the Municipal Courthouse.
The judge decided because it was such a wonderful day out to use the roof of the courthouse for the ceremony. Jenny and I had the pleasure of being witnesses for the couple and we signed the marriage document for them. It was an amazing experience and one that I hope to do again. After they were married, we stayed on the roof for several more minutes to take in the views and congratulate the happy newlyweds. They planned later that night to celebrate with a very nice dinner in Pike’s Market.
We then headed to Sculpture Park and photographed more of this lovely, fun, and spunky couple. We were able to loosen up, pose the couple, and help to bring out their personalities. We became more acquainted with their life back home and learned that they met serving our country. I learned so much about posing and how to have fun with couples who want an experience that is carefree and relaxing.
We finished and said our goodbyes to the couple by the pier. It was a magical moment as the sun was setting and the ferry was coming in to dock. The combination of the Seattle water front and Pikes Market creates an awesome destination wedding near and afar.
