I truly enjoyed traveling to Maple Valley, Washington and photographing at Lake Wilderness Park. Being able to photograph in this park with such magical, vibrant and luscious vegetation created a romantic moment for the couple’s first look and formal photographs. Just as the Bride and Groom saw each other for the first time, two ducks swam onto the lake and created a ripple effect that you just couldn’t recreate. Matt had just come back from serving our country, with the U.S. Army. What a special gift that nature gave these two as a tribute to their service on Veteran’s Day. As a photographer, I found this special to capture their day because it brought many insights into how many sacrifices service men and women and their spouses have made and will continue to make for our country.
The ceremony took place at the Cedar Lodge Of Maple Valley, Washington. The interior is constructed with cedar wood, a grand fire place, and an amazing chandelier outside on the deck. Throughout the night I followed the couple like an undetectable ninja and photographed their heartfelt nuptials, cake cutting, and dances. We also snuck in some off-camera flash on the deck with these two and their families. It was one wedding I will never forget, because these two had so much poise, elegance, and love for one another. I wish them all the happiness in the world and in their marriage and thank them both for choosing Lauren Ryan Photography as their wedding photographer.
